The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology launched a Representative Office of Science and Technology in Sydney, New South Wales on October 24 – the second one of its kind to be opened by Vietnam in Australia, after the first office was established in Canberra.
Patrick Chauvel was an 18-year-old rookie photographer looking for adventure and a chance to witness history when he arrived in Vietnam in 1968. He soon fell into a rhythm of photographing in the field for a few days and returning to the comfort of Saigon, where he would drink and swap tales with his fellow Western photographers at the Continental hotel. They often wondered about the photographers on the other side who were receiving much more incoming fire — even napalm — and could not enjoy the comfort of a hotel when their day was done.

WASHINGTON — The lychee harvest is in full swing in Vietnam's northern Hai Duong province, but local officials say fewer Chinese traders have come to buy the sweet and juicy fruit this summer due to concerns about anti-China sentiment.

In face of the situation that Chinese fishing ships have threatened Vietnamese fishermen, the Fisheries Inspection Force will work side by side to support Vietnamese fishermen in distress, especially in the key fishing ground such as Hoang Sa, Truong Sa and DK1, affirms Mr. LuuQuangHuy, Chief of the Vietnam Fisheries Inspection Administration.
